Young researchers' worshop & progam for foreign & French students

  • YOUNG RESEARCHERS WORKSHOP :

Wednesday 05 June 2024: 17h30-18h30, Amphitheatre S2, ground floor, Alice Milliat building.

Objective: moment of exchanges, feedback and information on the professionalization of the profession of teacher-researcher

Targeted audience: Masters research students, PhD students and PhD students but also young people holding

This one-hour session is dedicated to research Masters students, PhD students and PhD students, young teacher-researchers in order to share their academic experiences in connection with academic research in the history and sociology of sport. They will be able to discuss their difficulties, their projects, important academic elements that punctuate the professionalization of the profession of teacher-researcher such as communications in congresses, prizes for young researchers, postdoctoral fellowships, research contracts, the completion of a doctoral thesis, scientific requirements and standards for publication, and finally the procedures and institutional steps leading to the entry into the profession of teacher-researcher as a holder (qualification, teaching, research, recruitment auditions campaign, response to tenders, taking on teaching and administrative responsibilities, etc.). Thus, they will be able to compare their experiences and share them between their different statuses and moments in this professionalization, whether it takes place in France or in other European or non-European countries. This allows to better understand the modes of operation between the different countries and also to bring out enriching comparisons, commonalities as well as divergences.

  • FOREIGN & FRENCH STUDENTS ACTIVITIES :

German, Spanish and French students will attend the congress:

- 25 German students from the Karlsruhe Institute of Sport and Sport Sciences (KIT). They study sports sciences (BA or MA) or physical education (BA ed./MA ed.), they will be presenting former Olympic discplines on Wednesday afternoon, June 05, as part of their Master's course to earn ECTS credits.

- 15 Spanish students in the first and second years of a bachelor’s degree in sports sciences at the Polytechnic University of Madrid,

- French students (unknown number).

These European students will have a three-half-day programme during the conference, during the three afternoons:

DAY OF CONGRESS 1: Tuesday 04 June 2024 (at the Campus Condorcet Convention Center, Aubervilliers site)

 

Lunch for students: invited to the congress buffet

AFTERNOON 1: STUDENT FREE TIME

"Quartier libre"/"Free time"

Touristic or scientific activities: Free visit of Paris, expositions, or assist to the congress…

 

DAY OF CONGRESS 2: Wednesday 05 June 2024 (at Université Paris Nanterre, Milliat building)

 

Lunch for students (12h30-13h30): CROUS universitary restaurant, on the first floor (approximately 250 meters from the congress venue)

AFTERNOON 2 : STUDENT SPORT TIME

"Faites vos jeux !"/"Place your bets!"

14h-18h, Sport activities: Indoor Soccer, Basket-Ball, table tennis, beach volley…

Presentation of former Olympic disciplines by German students: practice of these Olympic disciplines (activités supported by the DFJW program: https://www.dfjw.org/)
